History and Mission

Take My Hand Kendrick and Child, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization established by founder Uneka Kendrick. The facility is provided to children who have been abused, neglected or abandoned. The goal being to provide a safe environment and tools to help them deal with trauma and give them tools for their futures.

Ms. Kendrick has first-hand experience in a group home facility. As a youth she experienced the day-to-day life during her time in such a facility. Her experiences propelled her to develop this nonprofit and move the mission forward.

By first providing a safe place for at-risk youth, then assessing their individual needs, Take My Hand will be able to offer children the help and care they deserve. The facility will employee counselors and therapists to provide services on-site. On the same campus, there will also be a medical clinic, a homeschooling program, nursery and educational space for pregnant teens, and recreational activities.

This safe place will be the beginning for many children as they navigate through and beyond their trauma.
